Large Intestine “types” are often cultural or spiritual heroes or martyrs, such as Confucius and Jesus Christ. A healthy Large Intestine has the ability to transcend between this world and the netherworld. It knows how to let go of the old and make room for the new, and must do this in order to survive. This power of the Large Intestine is a strong force, but it is infantile and needs to be channeled appropriately. It is much like Aries, the stubborn baby of the zodiac.

There can be an overwhelming theme of dominance, at its worst displayed as the rebellious, disobedient and selfish person who wants to be Emperor rather than let the wise person rule. Rape is always a Yangming pathology and Hexagram 34 can sometimes be about celebrating Yang by humiliating Yin.
While the power within the Goat has the ability to be brave, assertive, intelligent, energetic, impulsive and eager, it can also be competitive, violent, impatient, rash, extreme and arrogant.
