Just Talking and Talking. Sometimes About Chinese Medicine.

Riru (日入) and Bayue (八月)

September Evening in Yorkshire

September Evening in Yorkshire

日入  is the hour of the day for the Kidneys: 5-7pm.  This is considered the time of the sunset. It is the time of day for refreshment, or liquor.  The Sunset is the completion of the bowing for the day, which goes with the Kidneys, as they are the lowest organs. The sunset is a symbol of the West, old age and closure.
八月 is the eighth lunar month (September) of the year. At this time, darkness and cold are beginning to take over. This is the month that the winds begin to blow (which goes with the Wind portion of the Hexagram) and the wild geese begin to arrive. The people are supposed to be giving care to the aged and destitute, so that they will have the resources to make it through the winter.
In this month, the active forces decrease while the decaying/fermenting forces increase.
